In 2026, Kuo Chien Shen founded + FOUNDRY, establish a platform centered on advanced manufacturing, AI, and sustainability strategies.
This platform is not just an extension of architectural design, but a complete link from concept to implementation, advancing low-carbon architecture, smart materials, and localized production to usher in a new era of architecture.
The story of + FOUNDRY is the journey of turning vision into action.
We believe architecture can bring hope and change to the future of society and the planet.
Kuo-Chien Shen has spent over two decades at the forefront of architecture, exploring how it can serve as a bridge between people, technology, and the environment.
From New York and Rotterdam to Taipei, his architectural journey spans diverse cultures and contexts. As Partner at KRIS YAO | ARTECH (2013–2025), he led landmark projects including TSMC’s R&D Centers, the New Taipei City Art Museum, the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum, and the Wuzhen Theater, earning rich international experience and global recognition.
Yet for him, architecture has never been just about the final design—it is a process of constant experimentation, refinement, and dialogue.
